These images are taken from a trip to the top of Blood Mountain with a group of former colleagues from the Clemson Libraries in the autumn of 2015.
When the Byron Herbert Reece Trail meets the AT, there is a view of the surrounding mountains. Now, on to the top along the AT. At different points near the top, there were outcroppings of rock that offered views of the Appalachians. There was still some color, even at this late stage. After last year's trip in the fog, it was nice to actually see landscape at the top. I had to wait for the wedding to finish before getting pictures of the view, but it was worth the wait. We stayed at the top for some time, enjoying the day. One last look back over the mountains before heading down.
