Last time on this hike, it was summer. This time, it was in February.
This tree had fallen across the trail, providing a lovely obstacle to scramble around. So, I'm fascinated by roots and dirt. Sue me. Not sure if this is good for the tree, or not, but it makes an interesting photo. In the summer, this is pretty much a wall of green. One more on the way back. It's really not as bleak as it might look here. It was a very nice day, just gray and cold. Or is that the definition of bleak? After the trail, I walked along the dam to get some shots of the tower that sits halfway along the top. Sure, the water's a bit low, but it's still a nice view. I'm not sure what the origin of this formation is. It looks somewhat manmade, but somewhat not. But the coloring was fascinating.
