The Falls Creek Falls Trail is in the Jones Gap State Park in upstate South Carolina. It's a 1.8-mile trail to the falls, but very steep and strenuous. But the waterfall is worth it, and these pictures were taken in winter after a recent snow.

The lower part of the trail goes past small cascades.
The beginning of the trail is scattered with large rocks, some far larger than these.
Some of the rocks had trees growing around them.
The bare trees of the winter allowed for good views of the surrounding mountains.
Falls Creek Falls is rather stunning, especially flowing over and around the remaining ice and snow.
The water flows over and through ice and snow.
I was able to get down to the lower part of the main waterfall and get a shot from below.
On the way back down, I got some shots of the lower waterfall swirling through the ice.
This is the lower waterfall on the trail.
The winter bleakness of the trail was very evident on this easy stretch of the trail.
As I got to the end of the trail, a fallen tree showed many curved exposed roots.
