I've been to Yellow Branch Falls before, but this is one of the most stunning waterfalls in the Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia area that I've seen. The trail is a 1.5-mile moderate hike to the falls, with 1.5 back out.
The trail starts off easy and quiet. There are multiple crossings of the creek that you follow at the beginning. This is not the falls proper, but a small cascade at one of the creek crossings. My requisite "look up" moment. The falls are beautiful, but the trail itself is beautiful, too. About a third of the way along the trail, one walks through this gorgeous forest. Something about the roots just caught my eye. The main event: Yellow Branch Falls The multiple ridges and stacks of rock create these fantastic cascades. No matter how you look at it, these are amazing falls. Have you figured out yet how much I love this waterfall? Even close up, the waterfall is intricate and interesting. Ok, last shot...others are coming in, and I have to take my leave.
