Recently, I was looking through some of my photos, and I found some images from a trip I took in the late fall of 2014 along the Sourwood Trail in north Georgia, around Lake Russell. I had almost forgotten that I had taken this hike, not because it wasn't enjoyable, but just because things had been very busy on my weekends, and it just got lost.I went along the trail the opposite direction from last time, but overall, the trip went very much like the last one. The biggest difference was the temperature, which was lower than the summer trip. It was a very pleasant day, just a little overcast for most of the trip. What I remember most is that I was listening to some fiction podcasts on the trip. Sometimes, I just like to hike with the ambient sounds as my accompaniment. But, other times, I will listen either to music, or catch up on podcasts. In this case, I remember that I listened to Podcastle, a wonderful fantasy podcast that showcases audio versions of the best in fantasy fiction. For that hike, I heard Araminta, or the Wreck of the Amphidrake, a great story. I also heard a story from Pseudopod, a horror-centered podcast, Unforgotten. Both podcasts are part of a trio of podcasts, the science fiction podcast being Escape Pod. All three podcasts are well worth a listen. For those who are interested, I plan to start listing the things I listen to on the trail. For now, enjoy the pictures!

I especially like the broken-off treetop. The sharp edges contrast nicely with the soft foliage behind it.
